My Philosophy For Creature Comforts Bed & Biscuit Inn...

Is in providing a safe, happy and loving environment for your treasured dog's stay.

Having been around dogs all of my life, I have always been drawn towards them and they are all drawn to me. I always knew that my life would revolve around dogs, whether it be dog shows, dog training or caring for dogs. DOGS ARE MY PASSION! As a teenager I took a job in a boarding Kennel but it didn't take long for me to realize that the dogs at the boarding kennel did not look or act happy at all. In fact, they were quite stressed, all of them! Because boarding kennels don't want to pay an employee's medical expenses (should an employee get bitten by a dog), I was instructed NOT to touch or pet the kennel dogs. I was to release the "trap door and send them into their outdoor run while I worked in the indoor run, cleaning poop & pee and putting their food and water dishes in the same area that they soiled. Most of the kennel dogs wouldn't even eat their food and the constant barking was stressful and taxing on all the dogs. Needless to say, it was NOT the happy place for dogs that I thought it would be. Now I know I may stir up some controversy with my next statement, but I am being point-blank honest and it give you, the consumer, something to think about. Today's kennels may have cutesy names, and are sometimes "candy-coated" but the fact is: a kennel, is a kennel, is a kennel! Their environment is still the same, i.e. concrete floors, pebble stones in their runs, the barking and stress are all part of the kennel environment. Environment is the key element!

At Creature Comfort Bed & Biscuit I provide an environment that is similar to the homes the dogs come from. They live in a cozy, peaceful, country home with an acre of grassy backyard to play in. They sleep in on carpeted livingsroom and bedroom floors or up on the sofas or in the bed with me. Experience with dogs is important too. While most kennels employ workers at low wages who have little or no experience, I have 40+ years of experience working with dogs, which is why the care that I provide for your loved one is superior to that of a kennel.

A lot of kennels require an evaluation of your dog before they agree to board him or her, but has the consumer ever thought to evaluate the experience and handling capabilities of these candy-coated kennel's employees? A a kennel, even the candy-coated, cutsey type, your pet may never see the same employee twice during their stay. There are shift changes, there are people quitting and new people starting work. All of that unfamiliarity is a stress factor that needs to be looked at before you leave your dog somewhere. It should also be considered that kennels close at night and the staff goes away for the nights leaving the dogs alone in a dark, strange building.

At Creature Comforts Bed & Biscuit Inn, I am the one you will meet and I am the one your dog will live with for the entire duration of your dog's stay. The dogs get to know me and they bond with me. The sense of having the "same, familiar face" day in and day out makes it comfortable for your cherised canine's stay.... and they all love coming back to stay with me again. They will ususally jump out of your car and run right up to me. I've had clients tell me that their dogs know when they turn onto my road and they start doing the "happy dance" in the car! That just warms my heart and meks what I do worth it, after all, the love of a dog is the BEST LOVE OF ALL!

Am I critical of where our canine friends are left while their owner's are away? You bet I am! I welcome the same type of scrutiny from my perspective clients so that they will know that their beloved pet is safe and well cared for at Creature Comforts Bed & Biscuit Inn.

My hours of pickup and drop off make it convenient to get your dog here and then back with you again. The hours are: 7 am - 11 am and 6 pm - 10 pm, 7 days a week.
